Description
I have probably told the story of Tony more times than I can count. But for the sake of finally putting it down in writing:
Tony was a quiet old soul who ran the Conoco gas station in Crested Butte, Co.,. It also served as a general store, (one of this and one of that, as you can see in the image), a place to get your fishing license, salmon eggs and a few lures. He also have some socks, some candy and a soda machine out front (glass bottles only).
Tony refused to hove his picture taken, EVER. I know because I tried several times when I lived there. Years later I went to visit this place with my new bride. After a week or so of camping and visiting with Tony several times, she was able to talk Tony into having his picture taken. There is always more….the Very Large stove that he is standing next to might have something to do with the “Rest of the story”
All of my large format photography is captured with a 4 x 5 view camera, (one of those cameras that need a black cloth over the back; Ansel Adams Style). Each image is meticulously composed under the black-cloth with just me, the ground glass, and my lens to achieve a relationship with my subject. Each picture is taken one sheet of film at a time, Old School, resulting in very sharp images.
Once the film is developed, it is then drum-scanned to get the highest resolution print possible. Printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta.
These Fine Art Photographic images are printed to order, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. If you would like your print framed, please call to sent up a time for a virtual framing session.
