Description
When photographing this image, I could feel the sorrow of this place. The wind whispering in the trees helped me understand the lonely forgotten souls who died here with tuberculosis. Not a place I would wander about at night. To read more please click below.
Fort Bayard Tuberculosis Hospital 1899-1913
All of my large format photography is captured with a 4 x 5 view camera, (one of those cameras that need a black cloth over the back; Ansel Adams Style). Each image is meticulously composed under the black-cloth with just me, the ground glass, and my lens to achieve a relationship with my subject. Each picture is taken one sheet of film at a time, Old School, resulting in very sharp images.
Once the film is developed, it is then drum-scanned to get the highest resolution print possible. Printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta.
These Fine Art Photographic images are printed to order, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. If you would like your print framed, please call to sent up a time for a virtual framing session.
